I have lost several items carried in the box when it had 1-2" of water in it. The hassle of all the wet items was not very exciting. This has happened on two different occasions. The concept is great and I hoped for something that was reliable. The hitch light assembly was not long enough, so I had to buy an extension - not the end of the world, but it should be longer considering how far back it fits from the hitch receiver (this adds alot to the overall length of your vehicle).I plugged everything in, and the right taillight did not work. I went to the autoparts store, got the new taillight (a standard size), and plugged that in. now the light worked, but the blinker and brake light function do not. I've sent two emails to ROLA support (there is no phone number listed) without an answer. I hope this isn't a harbinger. We're going on a 500+ mile trip, I'll update after that. Edited: Its been two years, and two of the 500 + mile trips. The good - it "tows" great - you literally do not know its there on a small SUV (Ford Escape). I promised myself that I would write a review about this product, but I wanted to wait a bit to really get a feel for this product before commenting. It has now been 9 months and 4 road trips since my purchase and I have to say that after some initial trouble, I am VERY happy with this product.When I initially purchased this product from Amazon, the unit shipped to me in an open box, with scratches on the top, and completely missing a taillight. I really could not believe that someone would actually deliver a product like that!! I was ready for my one star review. But of course amazon was great and got me a complete product replacement. The new ROLA has been perfect for my family. I have a Toyota Sequoia which is just big enough to fit my family of 6 + dog. However the luggage space in the Sequoia is pretty bad unless you have the seats down. Enter the ROLA. It is perfect for the sequoia.
