In this case, I looked at just about all of the hitches available and ultimately went with this one for a couple reasons. First, it's made of aluminum, so Much lighter than those made of steel without sacrificing strength, as well as rust proof--only the 2" shank is steel. Second, this carrier was half the cost of most others (and I was able to pick it up at Harbor Freight and avoid paying shipping). It sticks straight out from the hitch, so I bought an extension with a 6" rise that helps a lot. I ordered a 48" Rola cargo bag from Amazon that fits this carrier like a glove. We can now keep all of our luggage and miscellaneous 'stuff' on the back of the car, freeing up the equivalent of an entire trunk for other things (dogs/kids/diabetic cat and litter box). Box (Maine, USA) - See all my reviews    This review is from: 500 Lb Hitch Mount Hual Aluminum Cargo Carrier Basket (ALUMCARGOCARRIER#92655) I'm surprised this is not listed in more places, unless it is exclusive to Harbor Freight (dot) com and then resold here by independents. Love the weight, the sides, and the rust resistance. We traded my mini-bed pickup for a Highlander (darn kids) and needed a way to get stinky garbage to the dump without ruining the inside of the HL. Found this for less than $70 including shipping and it was a steal. For short trips, it does everything the more expensive versions do and 1/2 the price. Small issues: 1. Lots of bolts/nuts to install 2. Hitch post and Carrier mount holes are way bigger than the two bolts supplied. 3. Very loose fit in the 2" hitch. If I were taking it on longer trips I would get anti-vibration pin. 5 Stars for a great product. This review is from: 500 Lb Hitch Mount Hual Aluminum Cargo Carrier Basket (ALUMCARGOCARRIER#92655) My Daughter recently became dependent on a wheelchair.I looked at all the options for weeks and finally decided on this for these reasons: It is Light, I can lift it alone. It doesn't interfer with the use or operation of my liftgate. It has 7 inch sides which allow me to put coolers, boxes, yard sale finds in it and they ride smooth. I found a large PetCo Crate for my dog and with a simple bungee cord secured it. The wheelchair sits nicely, is adequately secured, and stable. The only thing it does I don't care for is it angles downward making it dip closer to the road and possibly drag. For the price It is and excelleint choice.
