Assembly was fairly easy, however one of the bolts broke while I was tightening it (otherwise I would have given it a 5). Rather that installing the bolts with the nuts on the inside, I swapped them around to keep the bolts from potentially scraping up the cargo.I bought it specifically to use with a with a Curt 13575 hitch and Highland 1041700 rainproof cargo bag. The combo worked great on a recent camping trip. I saw other reviews that indicated they didn't think the mesh bottom would hold up to the specified weight, but the welds look to be really good and that mesh is fairly thick, so I think it would be fine. But I noticed in the pictures that this has an extremely small shank. So I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed the distance from the centerline of the hitch pin to the edge of the carrier when folded is only 4". So if you hitch receiver does not protrude from your bumper this may not fold without hitting your bumper. So please measure. Not sure why they don't offer a longer shank even if they just added 2" it would fit almost all vehicles. So for the bad design and lack of details here I give this a single star...buyer beware! It was very quick and easy to assemble. It wobbles a little but works well. We have no complaints about it. We are very satisfied with this product. It folds nicely, hasn't shown any sign of rusting or anything like that, and seems to hold the weight of a full ice chest just well. I'm glad we purchased the folding one. We do plan to add reflector tape so it's more visible at night.I definitely think we got a great deal for the price. |
