The original packaging was a bit tore up but it was taped, and the the cargo basket was in excellent shape. The only thing is that my order was lost by UPS. After spending way too much time researching I settled on this beast.The Good: - Sturdy. I have no doubt this badboy can handle 500lbs. - Easy to put together. It took all of 10 minutes. You'll need 2 9/16 wrenches or sockets, etc. - Large - perfect distance from the rear of the vehicle - the bars and mesh enable you to be able to tie-down anywhere The Bad: - The packaging was the worst I have ever received from Amazon. Actually, the worst from any online retailer. This thing looked like it was stored in a mud puddle and then beat up. The parts were not damaged, but bolts actually fell out when the UPS guy was walking up my sidewalk. Other Thoughts: I used left over soffet from my roof to put down on the carrier. I also cut a piece to go on the corner where my exhaust exits because I have read about the exhaust heat melting items on... It appears well made, but I'm basing this on the parts that I saw sticking through the box upon delivery. I'm quite sure parts are missing, with up to 4 holes the size of softballs I'm sure parts fell out. Its a Curt so I'm confident its solid quality, too bad its already lost its powder coating from dragging on the ground through the holes in the box. It amazes me after all the reports and feedback Amazon still doesn't double box it. Good job Amazon, keep reaching for the stars!! |
